These Terms are a contract between you and Uncomn Discipleship
("Uncomn," "we," "us"), based in San Antonio, Texas. They govern your
use of the Uncomn apps and website.
By creating an account or using Uncomn, you agree to these Terms
and to the Privacy Policy. If you don’t
agree, don’t use Uncomn.
If you’re signing up on behalf of a church, ministry,
or other organization, you confirm you’re authorized to
bind it, and "you" means both you and that organization.
Uncomn helps organizations run discipleship groups: creating
groups, scheduling recurring meetings, sending reminders, collecting
RSVPs, recording attendance, sharing curriculum, and tracking lesson
progress.
Uncomn is a tool for organizing. It is not pastoral, spiritual,
legal, or professional counsel, and it does not supervise or vet the
organizations and leaders who use it.
- Organization — the church, ministry, or group
that holds the account.
- Organization Admin — a person who can create
groups, invite people, assign leaders, and manage organization-wide
settings and curriculum.
- Group Leader — a person who runs a group day to
day: meetings, attendance, message board, curriculum.
- Member — anyone who belongs to a group.
- Content — anything submitted to Uncomn: group
and meeting details, message board posts, curriculum, notes, photos,
and records.
- Organization Content — Content created within
an Organization, including rosters, attendance, RSVPs, and lesson
progress.
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you’re under 18, you may use Uncomn
only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
- Organizations that invite minors are responsible
for obtaining parental or guardian permission and for complying with
their own child and youth protection policies, background check
requirements, and any applicable law. Uncomn does not verify
permission, screen leaders, or supervise interactions.
- You may not use Uncomn if you are barred from doing so under
applicable law, or if we’ve previously terminated your
account.
- Sign up with a real email address you control. Signup requires a
one-time code, so the address must be one you can access.
- Keep your credentials secure and your details current.
You’re responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us promptly at
hello@uncomn.co if you suspect
unauthorized access.
- One account per person. Don’t share logins.
Uncomn is built for shared visibility, and you should understand
what that means before you join a group.
- Group Leaders and Organization Admins can see your
attendance — including absences — your RSVPs, and your lesson
progress. They can see message board posts in their groups.
Attendance records show who recorded them and when, and may include
a short note.
- Only you can mark your own lesson progress.
Leaders can read it; they cannot change it on your behalf.
- Organization Admins control the Organization.
They can create and delete groups, invite and remove people, assign
and reassign leaders, set curriculum, and access Organization
Content. If your access is removed by an admin, that decision is the
Organization’s, not ours.
- Organization Content belongs to the Organization.
As between an Organization and its individual users, the
Organization controls it and decides how long it’s kept.
Direct requests to correct or remove Organization Content to your
admin first.
- Between the Organization and Uncomn, we hold
Organization Content on the Organization’s behalf and handle
it as described in the Privacy Policy.
Disputes between an Organization and its members — about access,
removal, records, or conduct — are for you to resolve. We’re not
the arbiter, and we generally won’t intervene.
Uncomn is currently in beta and free during beta.
Beta has no fixed end date. It continues until we announce
otherwise, and we’re under no obligation to end it by any
particular time.
- Features may change, break, or be removed without notice.
- Availability is not guaranteed. There is no uptime commitment
and no support response time commitment during beta.
- Bugs and data errors are more likely than in a mature product.
Keep your own records of anything you can’t afford to
lose.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email
before ending beta, introducing charges, or deleting an inactive
account’s data. You’ll be able to export your
data before any of those take effect.
- Continuing to use Uncomn after a paid plan begins, having been
given that notice, means accepting the pricing then in effect. We
will never charge you without you affirmatively subscribing.
When paid plans launch, we’ll publish pricing and give the
notice in §6. Fees will be stated at signup,
charged in advance through a third-party payment processor, and
non-refundable except where required by law or stated otherwise. Taxes
are your responsibility. We may change pricing on 30 days’
notice, effective at your next renewal.
Don’t:
- Break the law, or use Uncomn to harass, abuse, threaten, defame,
or endanger anyone
- Upload content that is sexually explicit, that sexualizes a
minor, that incites violence, or that constitutes hate speech
- Post someone else’s personal information without
permission, or use attendance or progress records to shame, coerce,
or retaliate against anyone
- Upload malware, or attempt to breach, probe, overload, or
circumvent our security or rate limits
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data, or use automated means to
create accounts or send invitations
- Send invitations to people who haven’t asked for them, or
use invitations for marketing
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or resell the service
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your role in an
Organization
Invitations. Only invite people who have a real
connection to your Organization and would expect the invitation.
Invitation sending is rate limited, and abuse is grounds for immediate
suspension.
Safety. If you become aware of abuse, neglect, or
danger to a minor or vulnerable person, report it to the appropriate
authorities. Uncomn is not a reporting channel, and posting it in the
app does not discharge any legal duty you have.
You keep ownership of your Content. We claim no
ownership in it.
You grant us a license to run the service. A
worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store,
reproduce, transmit, display, and make derivative technical
modifications to your Content — solely to operate, secure, and support
Uncomn, and to provide it to the people your settings and roles
permit. It ends when you delete the Content or close your account,
apart from residual backup copies that cycle out normally.
We will not use your Content to train AI models,
or sell it, or use it for advertising.
Curriculum is the part to be careful about. You
are responsible for having the right to upload or paste anything you
put into Uncomn, including published Bible studies, workbooks, and
curriculum written by someone else. Much published curriculum is
copyrighted and licensed for limited use.
By submitting Content, you represent that:
- You own it, or have permission from the rights holder, or its
use is otherwise lawful
- Sharing it with the people in your Organization does not breach
a license you agreed to
- It doesn’t violate anyone’s privacy, publicity, or
intellectual property rights
We don’t review Content before it’s posted, and Content
posted by users doesn’t represent our views.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we
can use them freely without obligation to you.
Uncomn can turn a pasted course outline into structured lessons
using a third-party AI model.
- Output is generated automatically and may be incomplete or
wrong. Review it before publishing. Nothing is
saved to your Organization without an admin confirming it.
- Scripture references are checked against a book and verse table
and flagged when they look wrong. A flag is a warning, not a block,
and the absence of a flag is not a guarantee of accuracy.
- Don’t paste confidential information or personal
information about other people into the importer.
- Your responsibility for rights in the source text
(§9) applies to anything you paste.
- We may change, limit, or remove AI features at any time.
If you believe Content on Uncomn infringes your copyright, send a
notice to hello@uncomn.co
with:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the work you say is infringed
- Identification of the material and where to find it in
Uncomn
- Your address, telephone number, and email
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is
unauthorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is
accurate and you are authorized to act for the rights holder
We remove infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.
Counter-notices may be sent to the same address.
Uncomn — the software, design, name, and logo — belongs to us and
our licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable,
non-transferable right to use Uncomn as intended, and nothing
more.
Uncomn runs on third-party infrastructure — hosting, email
delivery, AI parsing, app stores, and push notification services.
Their availability and behavior are outside our control, and
we’re not responsible for them. The current list is in the
Privacy Policy.
You can leave any time. Close your account in
settings or email us. An Organization Admin can close the
Organization’s account.
We may suspend or terminate an account that
violates these Terms, creates risk or legal exposure, or has been
inactive for an extended period. We’ll give notice where we
reasonably can; for serious violations — particularly anything
endangering a minor — we may act immediately.
On termination. Your access ends. Organization
Content stays with the Organization. If an entire Organization’s
account ends, we’ll keep its data available for export for
30 days, then delete it as described in the Privacy
Policy. Sections 9 (license and representations), 12, 15, 16, 17, 18,
and 19 survive.
Uncomn is provided "as is" and "as available." To
the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties,
express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from
course of dealing.
We do not warrant that Uncomn will be uninterrupted, secure,
error-free, or that reminders, notifications, or scheduled events will
always be delivered on time or at all. Do not rely on Uncomn
as the only channel for anything time-critical or
safety-critical.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any Organization, leader,
or member, whether online or in person.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers; those
parts may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special,
consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits,
revenue, data, or goodwill.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to Uncomn is limited
to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12
months before the claim, or (b) US $100. During beta, when
Uncomn is free, that means US $100.
These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose,
and regardless of the legal theory. Nothing here limits liability that
cannot be limited by law.
You’ll defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims,
damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your
Content, your use of Uncomn, your violation of these Terms or
applicable law, or — if you’re an Organization — your
relationship with your members, including any claim about records kept
in Uncomn or conduct at your meetings.
Talk to us first. Before filing anything, email
hello@uncomn.co with a
description of the dispute. Most things resolve here, and we’ll
work in good faith for 30 days to settle it.
Governing law. Texas law governs these Terms,
without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Venue. Any dispute not resolved informally will be
brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Bexar
County, Texas, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction
there.
For the iOS and Android apps:
- These Terms are between you and Uncomn, not Apple or Google.
- Uncomn alone is responsible for the app, its content, and any
support or maintenance. Apple and Google have no obligation to
provide either.
- If the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple
and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty
obligation.
- Uncomn, not Apple or Google, is responsible for addressing any
claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you’re not located in a country subject to a
US embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and are not on a
US prohibited party list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of
these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You’ll comply with any applicable third-party terms of
your app store and wireless carrier.
- Changes. We may update these Terms. We’ll
post the new version with a new date, and for material changes
we’ll give notice by email or in the app before they take
effect. Continuing to use Uncomn afterward means accepting
them.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy
Policy are the whole agreement between us about Uncomn.
- Severability. If a provision is unenforceable,
the rest stands.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a right doesn’t
waive it.
- Assignment. You can’t assign these Terms
without our consent. We may assign them in a merger, acquisition, or
sale of assets.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for
delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
